摘要

A shear strength determination model is proposed for unsaturated soil based on the relationship proposed by Khalili and Khabbaz [1,2] for the effective stress parameter, x. The application and the reliability of the model are examined through several shear strength tests conducted on three naturally occurring soil samples. Extremely good agreements are obtained between the measured and predicted shear strength values using theproposed relationship.
