Developing a Management Informaiton System to Improve the Monitoring, Targeting and Reporting of energy Management Progress in the Royal Australian Navy

The Royal Australian Navy (RAN) has produced the Navy Energy Efficiency Plan (NEEP) which is the Navy's business plan to meet certain Government energy management requirements. A significant problem encountered in working towards implementing the NEEP has been the lack of reliable data from which to measure performance and make informed energy management decisions. The RAN is currently addressing this issue by compiling an energy management information system energy management initiatives undertaken and some of the data and statistics emerging from this management information system.
