The 2nd campaign of pohang No.2 B.F. and its relining plan for the 3rd campaign

Pohang No.2 blast furnace will be relined on April 1997. This project will spend 105 days in preparation for next campaign. We have achieved successful performance during 13 years 11 months since it came to operate from now on.. Pohang No 2 B.F. has the first beel-less top charging equipment which made great contribution to technical innovation of the burden profile distribution in POSCO. No. 2 B.F has 2550 m~3 of inner volume, 11 m of hearth diameter, twenty-eight tuyeres, two tap holes, and cooling plate system. Material charging equipment is the parallel Bunker type composed of 2 charging top bunkers. And it has four Cowper Hot Stoves, dust catcher and two ventury scrubbers for blast furnace top gas cleaning system.
