Need of advanced technologies for coal ash utilization programs

These days generation of coal ash in India is about 70 million tonnes per year from coal based installed capacity of about 60,000 MW, however the total installed capacity is 81,164 MW. The National Thermal Power Corporation Ltd. (NTPC) alone produce every year about 17 million tonnes of coal ash, out of 13 coal based stations having about 12,000 MW coal based installed capacity. The total installed capacity of NTPC including gas based stations is about 16,085 MW.
