Reaching New Horizons in San Dieg

The San Diego Light Rail Transit (LRT) system currently consists of 40.7 route-miles (66.7 km); the South Line from the International Border through Centre City to Old Town, and the East Line from Bayside to the city of Santee. MTDB's latest LRT endeavor is to complete the Mission Valley West LRT project from Old Town to San Diego Jack Murphy Stadium, 6.1 miles (10 km), by late 1997 prior to the 1998 Super Bowl. Construction on this project began in June 1995 and is currently 80 percent complete (March 1997).
