Modelling incident duration on an urban expressway

摘要

Data concerning incidents, often used for safety studies, can be also exploited to improve the chain of incident management, in particular traffic control and information to road users. The paper investigates a process aiming at the elaboration of a model predicting the duration of incidents on an urban expressway. A simple linear model, developed from data extracted from the "incident log", leads to an average performance can indicates ways to improve data collection related to incidents.
