The effect of oxygen-vectors on yeast fermentation was examined in air-lift bioreactor. Addition of n-dodecane enhanced the gaseous interfacial area, the highest oxygen tranfer rate was reached with 3% n-dodecane. In yeast fermentation, adding 3% n-dodecane resulted in 26. 0g/l yeast yield when aeration rate was 1.2vvm, obtained 20% increase compared to 21.8g/l at the same aeration rate.
