The dynamic analyses of plane high rise steel frame were conducted with Frame Static-Dynamic Analysis Program (FSDAP). There are four kinds of elements in the program of FSDAP: column, beam, brace a panel. The hypothesis of the method is strong column-weak beam model. That is, the beams designed would yield in bending or shearing first, the columns have sufficient stiffness. By using a step-by-step integration method, the elastic and inelastic responses of time history for frames are obtained. As the brace have complicated hysteretic loops, the FSDAP stipulates the braces in frames shall have a compressive strength equal to 50 percent of the required tensile strenth for the purpose of simplifying the calculation. To compare with a general finite element computer programe, the paper studies the joint panel influence on the dynamic behavior of the structure. Based on some typical examples, the paper studies P-triangle open effect on elastic and inelastic dynamic time history response of widely used moment-resisting unbraced frame and braced frame, and gives some conclusions and suggestions. Several results compared with FAPP method~([1]) have proved the FSDAP correct. The program can be run in micro- computer and can meet the actural use.
