Overall characteristics and structural response of a generic lunar/Martian inflatable structure made of thin membrane material were computed. Critical compression stresses and, hence, wrinkles at component connections, and excessive stresses in the roof were identified by applying an integrated computer simulation. Geometric changes in the module were introduced to partially alleviate the wrinkles and fully remove the stress concentrations.
