The success of sliplining a pipe is very much controlled by the ease of placement and performance of grout within the annular space. in this study, light weight cellular grouts were developed and characterized based on their working, pumpability and mechanical properties. A forming agent was used to produce the cellular grouts with unit weights of 6.4 kN/m~3 (40 pcf) and 11.2 kN/m~3 (70 pcf). A model pumping test was used to evaluate the grout flowability, ability to displace water and dilution of grouts. The pulse velocity, compressive strength and modulus and tensile strength of grouts increased with unit weight of grouts. Specific compressive strength and modulus of the grouts also increased with increase in unit weight of the grout but the specific pulse velocity and tensile strength decreased.
