Vehicle upgrades and maintenance process improvements to increase vehicle reliability and availability on the docklands light railway

The Docklands Light Railway (London, England) is an automated transit system connecting the business district of central London, the new Canary Wharf business complex on the Isle of Dogs, and residential areas in the east-end of the city. DLR is undergoing a major improvement programme which involves the introduction of a new, high performance signalling system, a new fleet of 70 light rail vehicles, and the opening of a new 7 mile extension to Beckton.
