A proposed approach for a cost-effective efficient maintenance program

The issue of determining the most cost-effective and efficient maintenance program has been and is still being debated, particularly at this time of increased cost reduction pressures put on operating and maintenance budgets. This paper will attempt to find an answer to operating a safe and reliable transit system, well perceived by the riding public, while within the maintenance budget constraints.
