Kerosene-derived solvents that are substantially free of aromatic hydrocarbons and normal-paraffins provide useful solvent properties. Kerosene, a petroleum derived distillation fraction, is a complex hydrocarbon mixture of both aromatic and aliphatic hydrocarbons (normal-, iso-, and cyclo-aphthenic-paraffins). kerosene-derived solvent properties are a function of the kerosene and the crude-oil source.
