Computational studies for flow over a half cylinder adjacent to a plane wall at high Reynolds number were performed for various gap ratios. Time histories of lift and drag coefficient show that there is a finite gap ratio below which periodic shedding vanishes. This phenomenon is consistent with experimental results. It is expected that the current study will enhance the understanding of the complex flow physics involved.
