Synthetic time domain processing can be used to produce range-only RCS images of stationary targets in the laboratory environment. If the target is rotated in angle, two dimensional images can also be constructed. However, to image a moving target, the synthetic time-domain processing must use pulsed signals. The DREO I/J band RCS measurement radar has recently been modified so it can collect coherent data on a moving target over a wide synthetic RF bandwidth. This capability allows the generation of range-only and 2-D images of moving targets as well as an estimation of their Doppler spectrums. The implementation also allows for standard RCS measurements of total return to be collected simultaneously on the same hardware. Results of a simulation study of the effects of phase error on the measurement accuracy are also given.
