Abstract: Heavy-metal hexacyanoferrate stability during voltammetric cycling on the Fe$+III$/(CN)$-6$/$+3$/-/Fe$+II$/(CN)$-6$/$+4$/- is explained by the nature of the ions entering or leaving the film. In contact with a KCl aqueous electrolyte, as many cycling can be performed as more K$+$PLU$/ ions are intercalated in the lattice. This is concluded from the relation between the stability of the iron(III), indium(III), and copper(II) compounds, and the nature of the ions leaving or entering the film during a voltammetric cycle, as shown by the mirage technique. !13
