In this paper, presented are the simulations, taking both sinkage andrntrim into account, of the viscous flows around a trimaran with andrnwithout T-foil, the comparisons between the results of the two cases,rnand the analysis of the corresponding hydrodymnamic performances.rnThe calm water resistance of the trimaran without T-foil is calculatedrnfirst, the numerical results confirm well with the experimental data. Therntotal resistance of the trimaran without T-foil in regular waves isrncalculated as well, and the results appear closed to the test results.rnThen, the resistance of the trimaran with T-foil is calculated andrncompared with that of the bare hull. The pitch and heave motion of thernship with and without T-foil are compared at last. The researchs showrnthat, though the fixed T-foil will cause some additional drag, it isrnproved to be an effective appendage in mitigating the motions of therntrimaran in waves.
