By using a new technique named electrical capacitance tomography (ECT), which is developed in the past decade, concentration profile of two-phase flow can be measured. But for the ill-posedness and non-linearity of ECT, concentration profile according to reconstructed image is low quality. In this paper, principal component analysis (PCA) method is proposed to analyze the capacitance data from ECT and measure the concentration of two-phase flow. Simulation results show that the first principal component has a good relationship with phase concentration. Through data fitting, an empirical equation based on the first principal component is obtained and it gives an estimation of phase concentration which error is within 5%.
