The expanded use of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) composite materials in building construction will depend to a large extent on the development of standard methods by which composite parts, components and elements will be provided to the building industry. These standard methods, which will eventually become "standards" through the appropriate standardization process, will need to cover all aspects of the performance and the procedures for use of composite materials in building construction. Provided these "standards" are developed in the appropriate fashion opportunities will exist for new markets in the building industry.
