Research on Corrosion Protection Methods for Oil Storage Tanks of Oil Tanker Hope in Weizhou Oil Field

The Hope is a 170,000-tonnage oil tanker for oil, gas and water distribution, and oil storage and sales in the northern bay oil field of the South China Sea. The oil storage tanks on the Hope have U.S. made and Chinese made lanoline dope to protect them from being corrosively damaged by the marine environment. In this research, the corrosion environment of the oil tank was simulated, and the HL-100 water-soluble anti-corrosion dope was used to protect the oil tank. The results showed that the corrosion protection capacity of the coating was excellent.
