摘要

Seepage is a danger hidden trouble of dam. There are more than 80,000 dams in China, some of which have the trouble of seepage after a long time running. The groundwater measuring system can acquire the velocities of the water moving in the dam or in the abutment by using a tracer. The dam and the abutment are obeyed with the designing standard of hydraulic structure. So it is easy to determine whether the dam or the abutment is in the trouble of seepage by comparing the velocity acquired by the measuring system with the standard designing velocity. An example of how to use the measuring system to detect the seepage is discussed.
