THE ACOUSTIC ENCLOSURE AT HENG FA CHUEN

The design and construction of the acoustic enclosure was successfully completed in August1997. The design of the acoustic enclosure also demonstrates the validity of the Train NoiseModel. The train noise complies with the statutory noise standards at the Noise SensitiveReceivers facing to the railway line between Heng Fa Chuen Station and the Chai Wan PortalVentilation Building. According to the “Environment Hong Kong 1998” published by theEnvironmental Protection Department of The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, theacoustic enclosure benefits more than 2000 residents at Heng Fa Chuen. (Figure 2).
