Soft Environment for Virtual Manufacturing Organization

摘要

The agile manufacturing has been the main manufacturing strategy of this century. Under this strategy,rnmany virtual manufacturing organizations (VMO) have come into been. However, in today’s global environment,rnthe success rate of VMO is very low. The reason is that enterprises are lack of theories, methods and practicalrnguidelines that facilitate the formation and maintenance of VMO, as well as some technological issues. Aiming atrnthe above problem, from the resource-based view and system engineering view, this paper presents the formingrntheory of VMO, a life cycle model which includes the strategies and operations adopted during every life cyclernphase of VMO, and the maintaining mechanism for VMO. All these can be called as the soft environment ofrnVMO which can help enterprises understand the forming, operating, and maintaining mechanism of VMO, thusrnlead them to establish a successful VMO.
