JIT practices and it's application in the industry is introduced in this paper, earliness and tardiness arerndiscussed as the scheduling problem, when intermediate storage is considered, hold problem is also discussed,rnthe scheduling objective is to minimize the total cost or the tardiness cost. When a special chemical batchrnprocess with due date is studied, different intermediate policy and different production mode should bernconsidered, therefore, the total cost includes the earliness cost, tardiness cost and hold cost, the schedulingrnobjective is determined by the actual condition. A genetic algorithm is presented to solve this schedulingrnproblem and gets the good result.
