We gasified cedar using a small-scale entrained gasifier and determined the conditions for high-yield production of gas with gas composition suit for synthesizing liquid fuel. The optimum [O_2]/[C] ratio was from 0 to 0.1 and [H_2O]/[C] ratio was from 0.5 to 2, which suggested that gasification proceeded well even when the [H_2O]/[C] ratio was low. The gasification rate increased with temperature.
