Application of Project Management in the Military Industry Inspection

When developing military products, military representatives are designated to the contractor's company to do the job called Military Industry Inspection (MII), which is to supervise and co-manage the project during the whole producing process, especially the phases of Research and development(R&D) and manufacturing. This paper discusses the feasibility of applying project management to MII from the perspective of military representatives as project stakeholders. It proposes some suggestions on how to choose an appropriate organization structure, and introduces a case of research project that studies the service-life of a military aircraft. The case study presents the application of specific techniques such as work breakdown structure￡-responsibility matrix and project network, which sufficiently proves that project management can greatly improve the management level of MII projects.
