In order to investigate the effect of V, Nb, and N additions on the strength of eutectoid steels, laboratoryrnheats were prepared and continuous cooling experiments were conducted using a Gleeble~® 3500rnthermomechanical simulator. V strengthening effects were observed in all microalloyed steels, andrnmaximum strengthening was observed in the V+N steel. The V+Nb steel was found to have the greatestrnrefinement of colony size and ILS, and subsequently higher hardness among the test alloys.
