An All India Co - ordinated Research Project was initiated in 3 states of India and has been finished in 2002. The paper presents the objectives and the outputs of the Project. The paper introduces the situation of integrated land and water management. With the experience cumulated, it is to make an improvement of floodplain ecosystem in Ganges of India.
