HIGH PERFORMANCE CONCRETE AS A TOOL FOR DURABILITY OF STRUCTURES

The development of concrete during the last 10 years may, without exaggeration, be qualified as revolutionary. In the paper the significance of conventional high strength concrete (up to about C115,) self compacting concrete and high performance fiber reinforced concrete is highlighted. It is shown that the aspect of durability plays a dominant role with regard to the chances of application of those materials. It is shown as well that "high performance concrete" is an intermediate step to "defined performance concrete".
