PACKET RE-TRANSMISSION OPTIONS FOR THE SS-OFDM-F/TA SYSTEM

This paper examines the benefits of adaptive and asynchronous re-transmission scheduling for the SS-OFDM-F/TA system in terms of data throughput and packet delay. The conditions under which asynchronous and adaptive re-transmission schemes ensure a performance gain are determined. The number of possible re-transmissions for a given format, the maximum allowed time between retransmissions, and the packet selection criteria within a packet re-transmission scheme are examined.
