New Solutions for Indirect Rod and Tube Extrusion Presses

The new concepts for rod and tube extrusion presses now available have shown that tubes with very good tube wall tolerances can be manufactured by the extrusion method. Improvements towards better concentric billet clamping have been contributed by both the internal piercer and the flat guide system.rnIn addition, the manipulator attached to the press ensures high flexibility in handling dummy and scavenging blocks no matter which extrusion method is chosen. For heavy-metal tube extrusion presses, in particular, this manipulator will prove an asset.rnWe have succeeded in getting six more orders for rod and tube extrusion presses of our latest design. These presses will be commissioned in 2005 and 2006, their ratings range from 10 to 50 MN extrusion force.
