Based on two-phase anaerobic theories, activated sludge process is applied to treat brewery wastewater. The removal rate of COD in each phase is measured and such factors as temperature, pH, and organic load influencing the start of reactor are also studied through experiment. The test results show that when conditions with pH within 4.5—6.0, temperature at 27 ℃±2 ℃, organic load slowly increasing from 1kg/m~3.d to10 kg/m~3.d are satisfied, the two-phase anaerobic reactor starts easily.
