Water Utilization and Water Problems in Guilin City

摘要

Guilin is a famous tourism city in the world. Water resource is abundant and its total amount is of 39829 million m~3/a in the city. Among them, there is 4.89 million m~3/a that mostly consists of surface water to be used and 80% is used in agriculture. Because distribution of precipitation is non-homogeneous in spacetime, it is difficult to supply water for local agriculture and main town in dry season. In the meantime, the character of low water is serious in Li River. In the other hand, water quality is affected in part of river and in water source area by limited sewage disposal capacity, uncorrdinated drainage net and lack of supervise. With development of socioeconomics, the problems of water shortage and water pollution are taken seriously. In order to continuable use water resources, it is important to put forward general ideas for reasonable protecting and utilizing water resources.
