Basing on the characteristics of refinery sewage and the theory and practice of the A/O (Anoxic and Oxic) biological process in a petroleum refinery, the impacting elements to efficiency of nitrogen elimination in the refinery sewage have been analyzed, and the defects of the A/O biological reactor in a refinery and some problems in the running of this process have been founded, some aspects that should be noted in the improvement of wastewater treatment facilities in this refinery have been submitted.
