Application of Edge-Masking Technology in the Laminar Cooling Area of Hangang CSP Plant

In order to improving the strip flatness produced for the cold rolling, the edge-masking technology was applied on the Hangang CSP Plant. The modification of the mechanical construction, mill line, laminar cooling tilting frame and the reference data ensures that the screened off area both strip sides is symmetrical about the mill centerline. The edge-masking technology can ease the edge waves of the cooled hot rolled strip with low carbon and thin gauge.
