CO-GENERATION OF POWER IN INDIA : CONSTRAINTS AND POTENTIALITIES

The cogen potential of Indian sugar industry is around 5000MW. India has a large number of units producing surplus power for a export to the grid. The various technical, infrastructure and policy requirements for a successful cogeneration project have already been established and many mills are expected to adopt cogeneration schemes for generation of surplus power.
