摘要

The time from corrosion initiation to cracking of reinforced concrete is the critical period for the whole life of the concrete structures. A corrosion cracking model proposed in this paper to estimate the steel corrosion rate at the cracking of concrete cover. Some factors associated with the steel corrosion rate at the cracking of concrete cover are also discussed here: with the increase of concrete cover thickness and concrete grade, the steel corrosion rate at the cracking of concrete cover increases; whereas, with the increase of steel bar diameter and the ratio between the volumes of corroded and virgin steel, the corrosion rate at the cracking of concrete cover decreases.
