Bending tests were carried out on 4-point-supported laminated glass units with various layerthickness, and the stresses and displacements during loading were measured. A long period test lasting for 100-hour helped to study the development of displacement. This paper also used finite element method to simulate and verify the test results. The study demonstrates that neglecting the PVB layer's shear-resisting effect will lead to conservative design. PVB interlayer's shearing modulus changes with load duration and temperature, and the shearing deformation should be accounted for in design. Economic design could be made based on the laminate unit's shearing modulus' value.
