摘要

Recently microspacecraft have attracted a lot of attention because of the need for the reduction in the cost and increased redundancy of spacecraft missions. However, no propulsion system has been developed for microspacecraft, and the development of new small propulsion system is required. In this paper, a laser ignition microthruster is proposed as one of the candidates to realize microspacecraft propulsion. Experimental results showed that mis thruster could produce large impulse by use of solid propellant and operate at very low power using a diode laser as an igniter.
