Design And Trouble Shooting Of Multistage Extraction Columns

摘要

Industrial solvent extraction is widely carried out in various types of multi-stage extraction columns. While the design methods for these columns are proprietary in nature, the various approaches available in literature can be applied for quantitative and qualitative evaluation. The various phenomena in this direction are discussed. The understanding developed in extraction processes can be applied for trouble shooting of the existing facilities besides process and equipment design. The various problems, which may occur, are described. In the end, a selected live case study is presented.
