Corrosion rate determination is a major problem involved in many fields. A direct estimation of this value seems difficult by using classical tools or usual approaches. The quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) is a widely spread gravimetric sensor whose applications may be found in various fields such as electrochemistry or biochemistry. The aim of this work was to assess the reliability of the QCM as a corrosion sensor. In this paper, the corrosion rates of two electrodeposited metals estimated from QCM measurements were validated by comparison with electroacoustic and electrochemical estimations.
