摘要

A model compound for testing the facility of [60]fullerene cycloadditions across moderately hindered acene carbons, 5,7,12,14-tetraphenylpentacene, has been synthesized in four steps from 1,3-diphenylisobenzofuran. The molecule is found to cycloadd [60]fullerene across its central 6, 13-carbons to afford a new C_(2v) symmetric monoadduct. The ease of the reaction and the enhanced solubility of the resulting monoadduct bode well for the successful synthesis and manipulation of tris and tetrakis[60]fullerene adducts of phenyl substituted, linear acenes.
