Fragmentation and charge transfer in collisions involving fullerenes and fullerene derivatives

Fragmentation and charge exchange in collisions between 50 keV fullerene ions and various atomic and molecular gases have been studied. The fullerene ions include C~-_60, C~+_60 C~2+_60, Ar@C~-_60 and C_60F~-_n. Surprisingly, it was found that C_60F~-_48 can capture an electron from Xe.
