This is my 7th poster to be presented at ICT "AIRBAG 2000+" and, before the next conference in 2006, I hope that industry and authorities have resolved some of the problems to which I have referred in the those posters, in correspondence and in many other presentations since 1990. Problems have arisen mainly because of insufficient liaison between industry and authorities in the development and enforcement of international and national regulations, the desire by some companies to "let sleeping dogs lie" and in-adequate consumer-safety legislation. My first involvement with air-bags and seat-belt pre-tensioners was in 1986 when, as an Explosives Inspector employed by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), I had to apply UK explosives legislation to permit some UK automotive companies to import, transport, store and handle air-bags etc. which had been manufactured in USA and Germany.
