This paper demonstrates the theory, applications, benefits and drawbacks of distributed power systems in military aircraft applications. It also shows how the performance and reliability of systems can be improved while reducing size and life cycle cost. It will give examples of devices and subsystems that could be employed to implement this approach and achieve performance enhancements and size and cost savings.
