摘要

Taxus wallichiana Zuccarini is a slow-growing high altitude extinct tree of high medicinal value. Vesicular - arbuscular mycorhizal (VAM) fungi presence were found to colonize of the, roots of T. wallichiana. The occurrence of VAM improved seedling growth by facilitating uptake of P and Zn in the P and Zn depleted soils of the alpine region of Himalayan range. YAM fungi were identified as Glomus fasiculatum. Application of G. fasiculatum fungi could be successfully used for plantations to improve growth of Taxus wallichiana in degraded soils.
