Employment of an Application-led Approach for Assessing Ultrafiltration Media Consistency

Ultrafiltration (UF) is a process that uses an isotropic semi-permeable membrane to separate macromolecular entities and solvents on the basis of size. UF is particularly useful for the concentration of macromolecules such as proteins and can also be used to purify molecular species or for solvent (buffer) exchange. A key advantage of UF is that it is a gentle, non-denaturing, method compared to other processes which is critical when working with labile molecules.
