摘要

Nonwoven fabrics, such as spunbond webs, are basically a network of individual fibers. The physical properties of the individual fibers affect lay down of the fiber, bonding performance, stress-strain behavior and the drapability of the fabric.rnThe fiber properties are dictated by the base polymer and the molecular orientation during fiber formation. Therefore, a highly orientated fiber with high molecular weight will have the potential to produce a high strength spunbond fabric. In order to have a highly elastic or highly extensible nonwoven web, it is necessary to produce fibers of high elasticity or elongation during spinning. Therefore, it is essential to understand how the fiber properties are affected by the resin selection and the structure development of the fiber.
