Incompressible high-Reynolds-number flows are simulated by solving the Navier-Stokes equations. No explicit turbulence model is employed. To increase the accuracy, the multi-directional finite-difference scheme with third-order upwinding is incorporated into the solver. In this article, some examples are presented to show the applicability of the present approach to a variety of problems. These are: flow past bluff bodies, turbulence generated by a lattice, flow around a circular cylinder and an airfoil, and simulation of a flow past a body using a body-fitted coordinates modified from a Cartesian coordinates.
