The Fifteenth Session of the Council of the Far East Radionavigation Service (FERNS)

The Council noted that studies are being undertaken by FERNS members on different applications of AIS and, recognising the advantages operationally and in spectrum usage of a co-ordinated approach, requested the Technical Working Group to collate all the various applications of AIS that are being studied consider the extent to which harmonisation of the applications could occur and make appropriate recommendations to the Council at a future meeting.
